Food Education

The School works with Hand Cut Foods to provide a variety of healthy eating choices for breakfast and lunch. Students may choose from a sandwich station, a salad bar, an daily entree special, daily soup, and freshly baked goods.  All entrees, salads, sandwiches and soups are made from scratch.  The kitchen is peanut- and tree-nut-free, including all prepackaged snacks, and the number of products with artificial sweeteners has been reduced. In 2015, the cafeteria and kitchen were complete remodeled and update. In addition, the School is in it's first year of implementing a new food-education classroom program.
In addition, dining services supports the School's sustainability initiatives by moving toward 99% reusable service products.  Parent volunteers take turns helping Lower school students with their selections and are available to assist as needed. Lunch expenses are charged to students’ online, pre-paid accounts.
