The variety of classes and flexibility in the academic schedule that I found as I went through high school was one of the most impactful factors of my education regarding my future academic and career goals. As a freshman, I spontaneously decided to take two languages - solely due to a "why not" thought - and I ended up continuing with both through all four years of high school.

NSCD often pushes students to "go for it", whether that be through starting their own clubs or organizing fundraisers. This emphasis on taking initiative provided me with the attitude that led me in many positive directions including taking four months of extra school, labs, and clinicals this past year to receive my Illinois CNA certification as a high schooler.
