Our admission committees look for motivated students with strong academic ability. Applicants are evaluated based on their current school reports, standardized testing, current teacher recommendations, interviews and our own evaluation process.

Lower School Application Process (JK-5th Grade)
To begin the online application process, you need a school-generated username and password. Submission of the Inquiry Form provides basic information to set up your account. If you have already received this information then proceed to the application.

Parent/Guardian Interview (required) - The parent/guardian interview is a conversation with an admissions representative to learn more about your child.
Application Deadline:
December 8 - Junior Kindergarten: All pieces of the application process must be completed by this date in order to receive a February 1 decision. Families applying after the deadline will do so in a rolling admissions process based on space availability.
February 1 - Senior Kindergarten - 5th Grade: All pieces of the application process must be completed by this date in order to receive a March 1 decision. Families applying after the deadline will do so in a rolling admissions process based on space availability.
Financial Aid Application Deadline:
- JK - January 12, 2024
- SK-5th Grade - February 1, 2024

Middle School and Upper School Application Process (6th-12th Grade)
For Middle School and Upper School, North Shore offers two ways to submit an application and supporting materials to the school. Please review the information and select the system that makes the most sense for your child or family. An application fee of $75 is required for either process with application fee waivers available by request.
For families only applying to NSCD, our "in-house" application may be the most suitable option. Submission of the Inquiry Form provides basic information to set up your account. If you have already received this information then proceed to the application.
The Standard Application Online is a common application form accepted by many schools in the area. For those planning to apply to multiple schools, this may be the preferred application.
Regardless of which application you choose, the components of the process include:

Transcript/Student Grade Reports
Interview (required) - The student interview is a conversation with an admissions representative to learn more about them and provide for a 1-on-1 interaction with the candidate. No preparation is necessary, but students are encouraged to ask questions so they can learn more about North Shore Country Day.
Standardized Testing (required) - Students applying to grades 6-12 are asked to submit ISEE, SSAT, PSAT, SAT, or ACT scores. North Shore will offer the online ISEE exam on select dates this fall for applicants. Please contact the Admissions Office for details to register.
Application Deadline: February 1 - All pieces of the application process must be completed by this date in order to receive a March 1 decision. If you are applying after the February 1 deadline, please contact the Admissions Office for more information.
