How To Apply

We utilize an in-house application that is to be completed by the parents/guardians. 

Recommendations from the applicant’s current teacher and principal are required.  The recommendation forms can be sent electronically through the My NSCD portal. 

The records release form can be downloaded from the My NSCD portal.  Please sign it and provide it to your child’s current school, so they can provide us with the necessary transcripts/report cards.

All applicants to grades Junior Kindergarten through First Grade are required to complete a Readiness Screening.  The screenings allow your child to spend some time in our classrooms and our faculty and staff members time to get to know your child better. Remote screenings are available for those who are not local.
 

All applicants to Second Grade through Fifth Grade are invited to campus for a Shadow Visit.  The visits typically run from 8:15-1:30, and the applicant shadows in their current grade allowing them to meet some of their potential classmates.

All applicants to Sixth Grade through Eighth Grade are invited to campus for a Shadow Visit.  The visits typically run from 8:15-12:15, and the applicant shadows in their current grade allowing them to meet some of their potential classmates.  If an applicant is unable to attend a shadow visit, then we require a student interview (in person or via video conference). 

Students applying to grades 6-12 are asked to submit ISEE, SSAT, PSAT, SAT, or ACT scores. North Shore will offer the online ISEE exam on select dates this fall for applicants. Please contact the Admissions Office for details to register.

All applicants to Ninth Grade through Twelfth Grade are required to complete a student interview. The student interview is a conversation with an admissions representative to learn more about them and provide for a 1-on-1 interaction with the candidate. No preparation is necessary, but students are encouraged to ask questions so they can learn more about North Shore Country Day.
