The spring 2020 annual benefit took on a different look and feel in honor of its 100th birthday and it was a rousing success, bringing in more than $440,000 for student experiences. Hosted at the Atrium at the United Center on February 27, the "Party of the Century" was a celebration welcoming parents, alumni, parents of alumni, and former and current faculty and staff. The event was led by current parents and Chairs Chase Stevenson, Nina Yoo and Betty Fisher Wiggins '93, and Honorary Chairs Michael Reinsdorf '85 and Rocky Wirtz '71.
More than 450 people attended or supported the event. During the program, Head of School Tom Flemma talked about the impact of the School's supporters on current students, Rocky and Michael make remarks on what NSCD means to them, and "Saturday Night Live" cast member Alex Moffat ;00 made a special video appearance. The program coil,instead in a paddle raise and live auction. After the formal [program ended, Mark Bransfield '86 and Liam David '86 closed out the evening with a performance from their band Soft Opening.
North Shore Country Day’s annual 10-minute play festival “Take 10” returned to the stage on April 13. For the first time in three years, students performed their original plays in front of a live audience with performances in the NSCD Auditorium.
All seven plays were written, produced and directed by students in the upper school directing class. Some were based on personal experience, observations and media events, while others stemmed from pure creativity. Once the scripts were finalized, the student directors held auditions, cast the roles and ran their own rehearsals.
