Francis R. Stanton '27 (1990)

Distinguished service to the School has become almost synonymous with the name of Franny Stanton. His relationship with the School is as long as it is profound, beginning with his place in the fifth grade class on the day the School was opened back in 1919.
Over the years he has been a member of every possible constituency of the school community, not only that of student, but also parent of three alumni (Bim '64, Ed '66 and Francis '73); member of the Board of Directors for many years, spending two separate terms as president; teacher for six years of a trimester course in architecture; trustee of the Foundation which oversees the School's endowment funds; coach of both boys' and girls ' tennis for many years; and guiding light of the Alumni Association, which continues to receive an enormous amount of his attention. As student, parent, teacher, member of the Board, Franny has expressed personal commitment beyond measure.

North Shore Country Day School, with great affection, bestows The Foster Hannaford Recognition for Distinguished Service on Francis R. Stanton.
