Cara Savin '18 Completes NSCDS Internship

NSCDS student Cara Savin '18 wrapped up her Communications internship in Leicester Hall this summer, building an outstanding portfolio and generating lots of great work for the School.
"I really enjoyed my experience, and working with the ladies who are knowledgeable about their fields taught me what it means to work in Communciations," she said.

During the school year, Cara is the Editor-in-Chief of North Shore's student newspaper, The Diller Street Journal. She wanted to expand her journalism, communications and creative skills by working with the Communications and Marketing department at NSCDS. Throughout the summer, she achieved her goal by helping out with a variety of projects and publications, all while researching and learning more about the School.

Cara never turned down a challenge. She wrote blog posts, website articles and Acorn stories. She created an audiobook for Lower School students. She sharpened her eye in photography. She designed a completely new look for the School's Pinterest profile and created posts for other NSCDS social media pages.

"I learned about the school's social media, the creation of the Acorn, alumni relations and archiving. My favorite projects to work on were the social media posts, where I helped take and choose photos and create messages," Cara said. "I was able to give my creative opinion as well as learn from Ms. Hernandez about what the viewers on Facebook and Instagram respond best to."

Cara's work is currently featured in School news stories, Instagram and Facebook posts, on our Pinterest page and in the Acorn!
