Phyllis Babb Perkins '46 (1983)

The Francis R. Stanton Alumni Recognition for 1983 is conferred upon Phyllis Babb Perkins, Class of 1946, who gave so much of her energy, wisdom, values and loving nature to this School. She provided exceptional leadership as Chairman of the Board, President of the Alumni Association, Chairman of the Education Committee and Chairman of the Future Goals Committee.
She started her association as a student, graduating from North Shore in 1946. Her ties to the School resumed and strengthened when she sent all of her children to North Shore, for 14 years each. Until her untimely death a few months ago, Phyllis served as President of the Alumni Association, which she made vigorous because of her strong links to so many generations of graduates and her dedication to Country Day's mission. Her commitment touched students, parents and faculty throughout the many years of her service to the School.

Phyllis also gave enormously of herself to her family and to several other organizations that she served with comparable leadership and dedication, including the Auxiliary of the Evanston and Glenbrook Hospitals that she also served as president. She personified so well those qualities that make North Shore Country Day School special and its graduates especially well qualified to lead lives rich in personal fulfillment and meaningful service to those around them.
