These gifts are fully tax deductible. The school will accept gifts by cash, check or credit card.

A donor advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving vehicle that allows you to make a tax-deductible donation today and then recommend gifts (known as grants) to charities from the fund over time. Not only do contributions have immediate tax benefits, they also grow tax-free in the account to provide greater impact. DAFs are a convenient and tax-efficient way to facilitate charitable giving and achieve your philanthropic goals.

If you already have a DAF and would like to send a gift to North Shore Country Day to support our students, your fund administrator may send a check payable to North Shore Country Day, c/o the Development Office, 310 Green Bay Road, Winnetka, IL 60093:

You can make a recurring gift by pledging an amount on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis. Visit our Give Now page to set up your recurring gift.

A gift of stock saves two ways. You avoid capital-gains tax on the increased value and you receive a deduction for the full market value of the stock at the time you make the gift. To ensure proper credit for your gift, please send a Contribution of Stock form to the Development Office at development@nscds.org

As a general policy, we do not accept gifts of used personal property for which we do not have an immediate need.  We do solicit in-kind items for our Benefit each year via the Benefit Planning Committee. 

Businesses and corporations are encouraged to match the gifts given by their employees. To find out if your company offers a matching gift program, please click here or contact your employer.

• If you have a traditional individual retirement account (IRA) and are at least 70-1/2 years of age, you can give up to $108,000 in total during 2025 to 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organizations, like NSCD. This is known as a qualified charitable distribution (QCD). A QCD counts toward your required minimum distribution (RMD), thereby reducing your income tax liability. QCDs must be sent directly from your IRA to the charity, and you may not receive any goods or services in exchange for your gift. 
• Please note: The law enabling QCDs only applies to traditional IRAs and not other types of retirement accounts (401k, 403b, etc.). If using a charitable rollover is appealing to you, you have the option to roll over funds from your other retirement accounts to an IRA and then make a qualified charitable distribution. Please contact your financial advisor for additional information.
