We are thrilled to share the successful completion of the North Shore Forevermore Campaign, which raised more than $41 million — the largest and most ambitious fundraising effort in North Shore Country Day’s history.

More than a financial milestone, this campaign represents a bold investment in our people, our program, our place and our perpetuity — a belief in the transformative power of a North Shore education and the lasting impact it has on students’ lives.

Your generosity has made a true,
lasting impact across our school community.

PEOPLE

We provided significant funds for the direct support of teachers and students–the heart of everything we do.

  • Eight new scholarships and funds were endowed, ensuring that students will have access to a North Shore education for generations to come.
  • Ensured that student scholarships include supplemental support for the crucial elements of school life beyond tuition.
  • Provided substantial funding for employee professional development, ensuring our faculty and staff remain abreast of the most up-to-date knowledge and techniques for their field.

PROGRAM

We added new and bolstered existing academic programs to prepare our students for a changing world, with a particular focus on:

  • Essential Skills: centered around our motto, “Live and Serve”
  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)
  • Civil Discourse & Community Inclusion
  • Artificial Intelligence

PLACE

We renovated and built 49,000 square feet of modern academic, athletic and communal spaces where students will learn, discover and create for many, many years.

  • Mac McCarty Athletic Center: 27,000 square feet of new and renovated spaces for students to gather and train, including a student and spectator lounge, a new functional fitness space and a state-of-the-art athletic training facility.
  • The Hall Library: serves the entire school community
  • The Live+Serve Lab: is at once a makerspace, a laboratory and a hub for hands-on service.

PERPETUITY

The campaign strengthened the school’s financial foundation, ensuring stability and flexibility well into the future.
• We have directed $9.2 million in gifts and bequests to the endowment to support student scholarships, programming and ensure the long-term financial strength of the school.
• These endowment funds have ranged in creating new named scholarships and programs, to unrestricted dollars that give the school the discretion to allocate the money as needed to support our mission and operations

ANNUAL GIVING

As our first “comprehensive” campaign, North Shore Forevermore included Annual Giving donations, which provided over $10.5 million for current day-to-day operations, the highest philanthropic priority of the school.

NSCD provides the all-important gift of caring and teaching our children in their formative years. The school does this in remarkable ways. It is so important for everyone to give back in a meaningful way just as previous generations have done for us.Tom Flickinger, Campaign Co-Chair

One thing that became abundantly clear through this campaign was how very special this school is to many, many people. The generosity and effort that made the campaign a success are testaments to the transformative power of a North Shore education.Tom Flemma, Head of School

We remain deeply grateful to North Shore and have stayed involved because we have seen firsthand the powerful impact it has on children and their families. By supporting and serving the campaign, we hope to enable the school to better the lives of future students as it did ours.

This particular campaign will not only provide needed funds for the endowment, but it will leave a lasting mark on our facilities. The library is now a magical place of learning, and the Mac Gym is a top-notch facility for our physical education and athletic programs.
Molly Shotwell Oelerich ’87, Campaign Leader

Giving to the campaign is my way of showing appreciation for all North Shore has done for me and my family. I want to do what I can to help the school continue to be the vibrant, relevant and nurturing place that my daughter and I experienced so future generations can enjoy it as much as we did.
